Small-Space Container Gardens: Transform Your Balcony, Porch, or Patio with Fruits, Flowers, Foliage, and Herbs...

A concrete slab populated solely with plastic chairs and an abandoned grill? Not anymore. Chances are your balcony, porch, or patio could use a major makeover. Fern Richardson, charismatic creator of the Life on the Balcony blog, is here to walk you through the process of beautifying a small space--even when you have a similarly small budget.
This exciting guide layers practical gardening fundamentals with creative solutions that encourage thinking outside the pot. Maybe this means repurposing a shipping pallet to create a colorful vertical garden of nasturtiums and lobelia. Or simply seeing walls, rafters, railings, and everything in-between as fair game. It's in these containers--traditional or not--that you'll cultivate your own food, attract beneficial insects, grow flowering vine privacy screens, and so much more. You'll also learn how to tackle unique challenges, like windy conditions when gardening several stories above street level, and how to care for plants and troubleshoot with the best of them.
From design basics to essential plant picks, Small-Space Container Gardens proves you don't need a yard to have a garden. For anyone who wants more green in their life, it's time to get out there and start growing.

http://www.amazon.com/Prayfit-Guide-Healthy-Stronger-Faith/dp/B006CDCWIC
From the exercise physiologist of Tyler Perry and Mario Lopez comes PrayFit, a whole person fitness system designed to strengthen body and deepen faith. At its core, PrayFit is about effort: giving your best in two areas that are vital to well-being—faith and fitness. The underlying approach is simple: Make a daily appointment to spend quality time with the Lord and to exercise.
This 28-day plan guides readers of any fitness level to begin a workout routine that can be done at home with little to no equipment, to make small but effective changes in their diet and to grow in biblical knowledge and spiritual strength. As they follow the specially designed meal plans and workouts, readers will see the physical results of their efforts almost immediately—and as they reflect on the daily devotional reading (contributions from Pastor Jimmy Page, VP of Field Ministry and National Director of Wellness for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and Scripture verses, they will begin to understand the eternal dimension of giving their best. Living God’s promised abundant life isn’t only about faith . . . though that’s where it starts. PrayFit is the best way to claim that promise both inside and out.

American Artist Highlights Step-by-Step Painting Guide
English | HQ PDF | 100 pages | 83 mb
This book brings together some of the best step-by-step demonstrations of oil and acrylic painting published in American Artist magazines during the past six years. All of the featured artists are seasoned instructors who understand that the joy of painting comes not only from creating work, but also from sharing the means to do so with others. In each article, the text covers just the basics and the demonstration does the rest. Most artists are visual learners, so step-by-step demonstrations allow these skilled instructors to show rather than tell you how to create or improve a drawing or painting. Artists such as Sherrie McGraw, Daniel Keys, Nancy Guzik, and Morgan Weistling share their techniques for painting figures, landscapes, still lifes, and portraits, and they even let us in on the colors on their palettes and the materials they can't do without, providing you with a lengthy list of tools you can experiment with in your studio.

THE BIG BANG OF IDEAS
Some child in an cient times must have said, as he watched a bird sar up in the sky, "If only I could fly like that!" Obviously his elders would have laughed, hearing this. But it was the birth of an idea that inspired generations to come, through countless centu ries, to be realized in modern times through the efforts of the Wright brothers. An idea is in visible and weightless, having no material substa nce. And yet it has the power to change your life or even the course of history. Any in vention, discovery or historical event had its origin in a spark of thought that developed in to an idea. In this issue of Tell Me Why, we are making an attempt to present some path-breaking ideas that changed the way we live.
Published by the famed South Indian publisher Manorama, Tell Me Why is a colourful monthly knowledge magazine of 98 pages each. Its aimed at school children & adult too. Each issue deals with one single topic with clourful illustrations that makes it attractive for children to read. Foundations of Psychological Profiling
Foundations of Psychological Profiling: Terrorism, Espionage, and Deception
By Richard Bloom
CRC Press | February 2013 | ISBN-10: 1466570296 | PDF | 226 pages | 17 mb
http://www.amazon.com/Foundations-Psychological-Profiling-Terrorism-Espionage/dp/1466570296
Profiling is a hot topic today. The post-9/11 "War on Terrorism" has engendered political, ethical, and scientific controversy over its use. The proliferation of recent films, television programs, and books is a sociocultural indicator of widespread interest. Designed for a diverse audienceΓÇöincluding law enforcement officers, intelligence and security officers, attorneys, and researchersΓÇöFoundations of Psychological Profiling: Terrorism, Espionage, and Deception presents scientific theory and data on the notion of profiles, integrating essential interdisciplinary knowledge related to the practice and applications of profiling that is rarely found in books on the subject.
Exploring the related fields of historiography, hermeneutics, epistemology, and narratology, the book:
- Examines the definitions, history, and politics of profiling
- Explains how valid profiling can confront challenges such as the suitability of common scientific methods for the behavioral sciences
- Discusses how schematics allow profilers to best ask and answer the right questions when attempting to predict what might happen, identify what is or has already happened, and understand and influence any related events
- Describes various psychological events within, or exhibited by, profilers impacting the five desired endpoints of profiling
- Presents the theories, constructs, and illustrations related to two crucial tasks: (1) creating a representation of how events relate to each other and to events of interest, and (2) creating a narrative based on that matrix
- Demonstrates applications in profiling related to terrorism, espionage, and deception
When conducted successfully, profiling can immensely benefit intelligence, security, and law enforcement professionals to help unearth behaviors, clues, and "triggers" to when, why, and how someone with bad intent may act on that intent. The book examines this phenomenon and concludes with the authorΓÇÖs speculation on how developments in scientific method and statistical proceduresΓÇöas well as the integration of interdisciplinary sources, politics, and the cyberworldΓÇömay impact the future of profiling.

Lafayette Ronald Hubbard (March 13, 1911 ΓÇô January 24, 1986[2]), better known as L. Ron Hubbard was an American pulp fiction author and the founder of the Church of Scientology. After establishing a career as a writer, becoming best known for his science fiction and fantasy stories, he developed a self-help system called Dianetics.
Writers of the Future (WOTF) is a science fiction and fantasy story contest that was originated by L. Ron Hubbard in the early 1980s. Hubbard characterized the contest as a way of "giving back" to the field that had defined his professional writing life. The contest has no entry fee and is the highest-paying contest for amateur science-fiction and fantasy writers.
The winning stories are published in the yearly anthology L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of Future. The contest enjoys a favorable reputation in the science fiction community. The latest awards of WOTF 2013 are the 29th of the series.
